Job description: Summary:The South Florida Sun Sentinel is taking applications for paid summer internships for 2025 in news, features/entertainment and sports reporting, multimedia/interactives or data reporting, and photo/video.What you will do:Assisting with the creation and editing of content, including articles, blog posts, social media posts, and other written materialsConducting research, fact-checking, and verifying information for accuracy Assisting with the management of editorial calendars and deadlines Proofreading and copyediting content for errors in grammar, punctuation, and spellingCollaborating with other members of the editorial team to brainstorm new ideas and pitch contentContributing to social media channels and engaging with the audienceAssisting with administrative tasks, such as responding to emails, answering phone calls, and organizing filesSupporting the publication process, including formatting and uploading content to the website, and publishing articlesConducting interviews with sources and writing articles based on those interviewsWhat you will bring:Interns generally are current college students, but we also will consider recent college graduatesProfessional experience through a previous internship or freelance work is strongly preferred, though students whose experience is limited to campus media also will be consideredCandidates must be college students who have completed basic journalism coursesPhotographers must have their own equipmentInterns are responsible for finding their own housingStudents selected as interns will work full time for 10 weeks in summer 2025Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation requiredTo apply, please assemble a packet that includes:A short letter describing your background, career goals and internship objectivesResume with three journalism-related referencesAt least five clips; photography and multimedia candidates should submit links containing single pictures, videos, a photo story or multimediaWho we are:The South Florida Sun Sentinel, founded in 1910, serves Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties.
