Job description: Job SummaryThe primary duties of this position are to assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic equipment and fixtures used in the petroleum industry following accepted Best Practices while maintaining excellent safety standards.Job Responsibilities
- Trouble-shoot and diagnose malfunctioning systems or components using the appropriate testing equipment to find and correct the failure.
- Install conduits, pull wire and make final connections to circuit breakers, petroleum pumps, dispensers, Point of Sale consoles, tank monitors and petroleum lighting
- Inspect electrical system and components to verify compliance with safety requirements, codes, project specifications and manufacturer requirements.
- Verify proper operation of the electrical system
- Advise management, customers, and fellow workmen when hazards are present and when electrical systems are safe to operate.
- Work with project estimator on material take-off, material cost, and labor allowances
- Must be able to use ammeters, voltmeters, thermal scanners, and cable testers to find problems and ensure components are working properly
- Ability to use commonly used hand and power tools including screwdrivers, wire strippers, drills, saws, and conduit benders to run and protect wiring
- Must be willing to travel and work out of town

organization (peers, work groups, customers, and supervisors)Education & Experience
- High school diploma or, GED
- At least 1 year of Apprentice Electrician experience
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code
- Knowledge of Class 1, Division 1 wiring
- Strong industrial background is a plus

Expected salary: $24 – 28 per hour
