We maintain long-term, positive customer relationships and provide opportunities for growth and development for our team members.POSITION OVERVIEWThe Superintendent is responsible for managing scope of work, safety, quality, production schedule, budget, manpower, and site team for assigned projects.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend Job Turnover meetings and coordinate with project manager for assigned projects
- Identify project requirements and assign manpower as needed
- Analyze project forecast and ensure adequate manpower for assigned projects
- Assess and forecast man hours and provide input to project manager regarding feasibility
- Ensure workforce has adequate resources to complete scope of work
- Attend Job Start Up meetings and Progress Meetings on assigned projects
- Supervise site teams on assigned projects
- Coordinate the installation of equipment and material with project team(s)
- Visits and walks assigned jobs regularly, reviewing as-builts, job progress, material, and manpower needs
- Oversee the project schedule and communicate concerns to project manager, general superintendent, construction manager, and/or field operations manager
- Timely submit accurate paperwork on a weekly basis, including toolbox talks, sign-in sheets (as required), two-week look aheads, and daily reports
- Attend Job Turnover meetings on assigned projects
- Assist with oversight of equipment tools and other project-related needs
- Coordinate proper use and allocation of Company resources for assigned projects
- Enforces code, specifications, and disposal requirements at the job sites
- Review subcontract scopes of work and ensure compliance on assigned projects
- Ensure compliance with project closeout requirements
- Identify opportunities for prefab and initiate a mandatory process to implement on applicable projects
- Effectively communicate with project manager, general superintendent, construction manager, and/or field operations manager regarding project needs, including but not limited to the schedule, manpower, and personnel
- Maintain a positive relationship between field personnel and management
- Ensure project efficiency on assigned projects and seek opportunities to minimize job costs
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment and report any deficiencies
- Oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and address any delays or errors
- Schedule job labor to minimize overtime hours
- Coach, mentor, and trained direct reports and assign training and/or certifications as required
- Actively participate in hiring candidates for field positions
- Responsible for professional development for direct reports to include ongoing coaching, performance reviews, and performance plans
- Exceed customer expectations on assigned projects
- Perform other job duties as assigned
SAFETY AND QUALITY CONTROL
- Enforces Company policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Company and Job Safety Requirements
- Comply with OSHA regulations
- Immediately address all safety concerns and ensure proper reporting to the Safety Manager for all jobsite incidents within 24 hours
- Review assigned projects for overall quality assurance and compliance
- Identify and correct deficiencies which affect overall quality and production
- Confirm adequate onsite record keeping of quality assurance practices including preparation of as-builts
TRAINING AND CERTIFICATIONS
- OSHA 30
- First Aid / CPR
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma/GED
- Electrical Masters License
- Seven (7) to ten (10) years of progressive experience in electrical construction
- Strong NEC code knowledge
- Firm understanding to lead, coach, and train team members; monitor their work for quality and completeness; and foster a positive work environment that encourages the personal and professional growth of all team members
- General knowledge of estimating, scheduling, budget/cost control, negotiation, field supervision, and financial reporting
- Demonstrated organizational, leadership, analytical, and communication skills necessary to organize resources, including people, materials, equipment, tools, and time to meet tight deadlines and achieve desired results
- Ability to understand, interpret, and implement plans, specifications, and other contract documents
- Ability to calmly and professionally resolve or escalate issues with subcontractors and other third parties in a timely manner
- General knowledge of solicitation, negotiation, award, and management of subcontracts, including without limitations, preparation of bid and subcontract scope language
- Ability to create baseline schedules using logic/constraints
- Ability to use construction management software
