Job description: Job Title: Mechanical DesignerJob DescriptionWe are currently seeking a Mechanical Designer/Engineer to join our team. This person will support a variety of government projects, including pump stations, treatment plants, and the plumbing, HVAC, and piping for various types of municipal buildings.Responsibilities
- Develop design for mechanical process piping, plumbing, and HVAC systems for Water/Wastewater facilities using recognized industry standards and specifications.
- Perform system calculations and studies for piping, plumbing, and HVAC systems, including layout, sizing, head loss, etc., using analytical software.
- Utilize AutoCAD for the majority of design/drafting work. If the candidate has Revit skills, they will also use those.
Essential Skills
- Mechanical design

- Process piping
- Plumbing design
- Mechanical engineering or drafting (Associate’s degree or higher)
- 3-10 years of HVAC system design experience on large industrial or similar facilities
- Working knowledge of standards and codes pertaining to mechanical and plumbing systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
- Revit skills
- Water treatment plant mechanical design experience
