Job description: Gotyu Underwear, the fastest growing underwear brand in Europe is looking for an A-Player financial controller who is going to help them reach their next milestone.Thanks to our unique marketing strategies and disruptive products, we doubled our revenue each year with no external funding.We are looking for a detailed-oriented, experienced and pro-active Financial Controller & Bookkeeper to help us achieve our revenue and profit goals to profitably scale from 8-figures to 9-figures.If you want to be part of a team of winners, like fast-paced environments and enjoy helping brand scale from 8-figures to 9-figures, you will be thriving at Gotyu Underwear.We’re looking for a financial expert with a strong apparel / e-commerce background who can seamlessly blend detailed bookkeeping with high-level financial strategy to help us make better informed decision.You will working very closely with the founders!TasksWhat you will be working on:
- Develop detailed financial forecasts to guide business decisions.
- Calculate product margins and optimize profit
- Assisting in tracking inventory costs and ensuring that inventory records are accurate.
- Analyze financial data, including return rates, to recommend optimal sales prices.
- Manage and maintain accurate P&L statements, balance sheets, and financial ratios.
- Create scenarios based on strategic decisions.
- Prepare tax returns, manage sales tax filings, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Collaborate with the team to achieve a company-wide profit target of 20%.
- Provide insights and strategies to improve overall financial performance.
- Ensure accurate cash flow management and maintain a clear understanding of how cash flows within the business.
- Work with Finaloop software to maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records.
- Provide insights based on knowledge of U.S. financial regulations, especially those relevant to e-commerce businesses.
- Offer strategic insights into the financial performance of brands in the U.S., leveraging experience in managing businesses with a large number of SKUs.
RequirementsWhat we are looking for:
- Master’s Degree or equivalent in Financial Controlling, Accounting, or related field with 2+ years of experience (please provide certificates)
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Bookkeeper, or similar role in the e-commerce sector
- Demonstrated success working for an e-commerce brand managing over 800 SKUs
- Experience in fashion e-commerce is a significant plus
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Proficiency in financial forecasting, profit optimization, and cash flow management
- Familiarity with Finaloop or similar financial software
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. financial regulations and best practices for e-commerce businesses, especially with extensive product catalogs
- Expert-level proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools
- Strong understanding of inventory management and its financial implications
- Knowledge of international tax regulations and transfer pricing
- Ability to develop and implement financial controls and risk management strategies
- Experience in preparing financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP
- Strong communication skills to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders
- Proactive problem-solving approach and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Certification such as CPA, CMA, or CIMA is highly desirable
- Fluency in English is required; German language skills are a plus.
