It has unique characteristics derived from the fact that it straddles IT and facility, and that the Data Center and IT are in the middle of a radical transformation due to the combination of digitization and surge of AI loads driving a fast growth in power needs on the one hand, and de-carbonization and grid saturation on other hand.As a result of the business growth, we have a new exciting opportunity for a DC Installation & Commissioning – Field Service Engineer (Power Quality).What you’ll do:To act as a Field Service Engineer (FSE) within local Country Service Unit, mainly working in large data center projects. Provide a first class service for the Eaton installed base products to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and loyalty. Responsible for installation, commissioning, fault finding/repairs & Preventative Maintenance. Offer support to the extended EMEA Service community through high level technical knowledge and experience in the field.
- Responsible for overseeing Data centre commissioning, on behalf of Eaton Field Service in local country service unit
- Provide the highest level of technical expertise in all Hyperscale commissioning activities.
- Support and train Local Field Service Engineers in such activities
- Onboard, coach and mentor new Field Service Engineers that join Eaton
- Manage key account technical escalations providing support including site visits, to engineers and customers alike, drive escalations to conclusion and provide feedback where necessary.
- Work closely with Project Managers, advising on commissioning considerations and assisting on selection of suitable engineers, carry out site visits as required.
- Assist Project Management Organization with support of high profile clients, providing technical advice and attending site visits as required.
- Maintain direct links with business units (factories) and act as focal point for all technical exchange regarding the commissioning procedures and testing
- Manage sub contractor teams were required
- Perform Health & Safety audits of Field Service Engineer and subcontractors ensuring the high standards required by EATON are maintained.
- Any other adhoc duties in line with role
Qualifications:Installer electrical background, suitable education/qualificationsminimum 5 years in the field focusing on Data Centers/UPSSkills:
- Fluent Italian and English
- Three phase electrical installation and commissioning experience essential.Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, SNMP, OPC, DDE, TCP/IP an advantage. Programming of PLC control systems (Power Control, Generator Control, SCADA, or process control) an advantage
- Good understanding of switch panels and power distribution. “
