Job description: Job SummaryDesign, build, configuration, and support of research projects within UCSF’s APeX Enabled Research team. Most projects will be in partnership with other UCSF technical teams and involve highly customized research solutions. Communication skills and inventive technical solutioning and critical. Supports consultation of new projects by interpreting research aims and strategies and creating technical solutions that fit within the existing health IT ecosystem and guidelines.Provides technical leadership and management to the AER technical team including: career development and technical growth, project and workload management, and supporting team members with challenging projects or communication. Supports the AER leadership team by executing team vision and direction and providing input or guidance on those decisions. Primary point of contact for the AER team with other teams within UCSF and from other partner organizations.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. - Bachelor’s degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area, and/or equivalent combination of experience/training
- Advanced knowledge of secure software development
Advanced knowledge of secure software development * EPIC experience is required
- 5 years of Epic development, with at least one large-scale Epic integration (multiple integrations preferred)
- 5+ years of providing support to research activities in an academic medical center
- Highly advanced skills associated with software specification, design, modification, implementation and deployment of large-scale scope.
- Excellent project leadership and management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to understand functional needs and how systems can support those needs. Demonstrated ability to develop conversion and system implementation plans.
- Advanced experience with identification and use of code libraries and open-source forums.
- Advanced experience with planning for deployment and creation of feedback mechanisms.
- 6+ years’ experience developing and configuring solutions to enable all aspects of clinical research
- Experience developing and executing complex test plans.
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
- Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated complex problem-solving skills.
- Advances experience working with clinical research operational stakeholders and staff within an academic medical setting. Deep understanding of operational processes and requirements
- Advances knowledge of data analysis
- Proven experience managing technical personnel
