Responsibilities include maintaining regulatory compliance, training staff, preparing technical procedures, and performing diagnostic procedures on blood and other body fluids from patients of all age groups. This position functions as a technical supervisor and helps develop, promote, and execute programs to enhance patient experience and employee engagement.Responsibilities:
- Supervise and perform advanced or specialized laboratory tests and techniques.
- Re-evaluate methodology, recommend changes, and assist in test interpretation.
- Determine the necessity for further testing or repeating tests.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality control standards.
- Provide technical supervision and consultation as needed.
- Select appropriate test methodologies and verify test procedures.
- Participate in proficiency testing programs and quality control initiatives.
- Monitor work quality, resolve technical problems, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Identify training needs and evaluate the competency of testing personnel.
- Maintain records for federal, state, and license accreditation and monitor adherence to safety regulations.
- Assist in budget planning, cost analysis, and procurement of laboratory equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned to enhance patient and employee satisfaction.
RequirementsQualifications:
- Knowledge/Experience: Minimum 2 years of laboratory training or experience in high complexity testing. Qualify as testing personnel under CLIA Sec. 493.1489(b)(2).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a Life Science or equivalent field.
- License/Certification: Current ASCP licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), Cytotechnologist (CT), Histotechnologist (HTL), or Pathology Assistant (PA) as applicable.

- Current ASCP licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) required for Chemistry, Blood Bank, Microbiology, Hematology, Molecular Lab Technical Clinical Laboratory Supervisors; or
- Current ASCP licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Clinical Laboratory Specialist (CLSp) required for Main and North Lab Technical Clinical Laboratory Supervisors; or
- Current ASCP licensure as a Cytotechnologist (CT) or certification as a Histotechnologist (HTL) or licensure as a Pathology Assistant (PA) required for Pathology Technical Clinical Laboratory Supervisors.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a Life Science or equivalent field required.
