Job description: Leidos Defense Sector is seeking a talented User Experience (UX) Designer to join a growing team creating pleasing solutions to complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.In this role, you will join a team that works across programs and divisions as the voice of the user designing solutions for products ranging from health management services to Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (CUAS) and cutting-edge Platform as a System technologies. You will use your skills to conduct user research, perform Heuristic Evaluations, ideate based on findings, design wireframes, build clickable prototypes, collaborate with developers, and grow in your skills and confidence as a UX practitioner. You will be responsible for day-to-day tasks working with the development teams to understand requirements and convey how UX research and designs achieve those requirements. The team is a small rapidly growing group of professionals with years of experience who expects hard challenges and exceptional results.Basic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in User Experience, Graphic Design, Computer Science, or another related fieldMinimum of 2+ years of applicable experience or less than 2 years with MS degreePortfolio showcasing the UX processAbility to grasp complex concepts quicklyAbility to identify project requirements and map them to the UX processStrong communication skills (oral and written)Desire to learn through curiosity, asking questions, and receiving feedbackPassion for user centered problem solvingExpectation for collaboration, critique, and refinementProficiency in at least one industry standard design tool (Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, Sketch, etc)Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret ClearancePreferred QualificationsActive Secret Clearance (or higher)Project leadershipUser Research ExperienceUI DevelopmentMilitary background or DoD work history, especially with UAS or CUASOriginal Posting Date: 2024-09-24While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above.Pay Range: Pay Range $65,000.00 – $117,500.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
