To apply, click “Apply to Job” online on this web page.Product Designer, Accessibility Specialist ResponsibilitiesReview accessibility of compliance of components and patterns which are part of the Meta Design System.Provide guidance to designers and developers within Meta and other Meta products, including WhatsApp, Instagram, Reality Labs, Threads, etc. on accessibility issues and remediation of those issues.Provide guidance to designers and leadership on compliance issues, their consequences from a regulatory and legal perspective, and provide suggested fixes.Train designers on accessibility considerations and accessible design.Propose new inclusive design products, initiatives and strategies.Prepare teams across Meta for the adoption of the European Accessibility Act to limit Meta legal risk.Design fully accessible patterns and components for Meta Design System.Minimum QualificationsRequires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Web System and Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Sciences, or a related field and 60 months of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Requires 48 months of experience in the following:1. Applying WCAG 2.0 AA to web apps across mobile and desktop, both from a design and engineering perspective2. Leading large-scale projects through all phases of development involving multiple cross-functional teams3. Creating documentation and deliverables for accessibility initiatives at scale, including roadmaps, project plans, playbooks, and communications4. Web accessibility5. User experience design6. Front-end web development7. Building and shipping applications or software at company-level scale8. Interaction design, including defining how an experience should behave based on understanding people’s needs9. Prototyping10. Visual design, including typography, desktop or mobile user interface, color, layout, and iconography11. Understanding product goals, identifying opportunities, and making decisions based on the impact to internal and external users12. Creating user flow and mockups to articulate design concepts13. Defining product specifications and user experiences14. Understanding and interpreting user research and usability testing15. Leading end to end design process across multiple projects including interaction and visual design artifacts, multiple iterations, and high-fidelity prototypes16. Developing product goals, identifying opportunities in a global market, and making strategic design decisions based on impact to the company17.
