We offer excellent benefits and a competitive wage.This position requires that you be able to work independently and work as a team with good problem-solving skills, ability to multi-task and you must be detailed oriented with excellent communication skills.Position SummaryThe Maintenance Electrician ensures the operation and maintenance (predictive and preventive) of plant equipment, troubleshoots irregularities and malfunctions, and performs repairs and installations of electrical components. Must possess valid electrical license issued from the State of Oregon or the ability to obtain a license within 60 days of employment.Essential Job Functions
- Diagnose malfunctions and perform necessary repairs, replacements and modifications of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components on existing manufacturing equipment used in automated process and packaging systems.
- Perform root-cause analysis and troubleshoot various electrical systems and components, including 600V and 480V 3-phase systems, VFDs and servo drives, safety relays, PLCs/HMIs, controls, and instrumentation devices.
- Partner with production, engineering, and automation to detect deficiencies in operation and aid in corrective action for improved machine performance and safety of personnel and equipment.
- Assist in electrical and automation improvement efforts throughout the plant, including check-out, start up and commissioning support of new equipment.
- Complete predictive and preventative maintenance, changeover, set-up, and adjustments on processing and packaging equipment.
- Communicate the correct operation of machinery and assist operators and quality technicians to diagnose, troubleshoot and rectify a variety of production-based, dynamic, day-to-day challenges.
- Complete logs and communicate with Supervisors, Managers and Operators on work performed.
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as jacks, cranes and forklifts to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up, and repair of machinery.
- All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Essential Qualifications
- Must possess Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) license, Plant Journeyman (PJ) General Journeyman (J), or higher.
- Proven track record performing electrical maintenance/installations in adherence with NFPA 70 and 70E.
- Experience working with VFDs, PLCs, and manipulating parameters and machine functions via operator HMI’s a benefit.
- Able to utilize and interpret blueprints, schematics, ladder diagrams, and engineering specifications to determine work and troubleshooting procedures.
- Experience with high-speed packaging machinery, robotic cells, and servo drives an asset.
- Basic knowledge and troubleshooting of industrial communication networks.
- Good working knowledge of pumps, conveyor systems, pneumatics is desired.
- Candidates must be self-motivated & able to multi-task.
- A team-oriented mindset; willingness and ability to take on other functional roles in the facility as needed.
- Excellent English language skills – both written & verbal.
- Required to work various shifts and overtime when business conditions require maintenance support.
Physical Demands
- Standing and walking up to 8 hours.
- Able to lift and carry 25 to 50 lbs.
- Able to push/pull more than 1,000 lbs. using pallet jack.
- Able to continually bend, stoop, twist, use arms, wrists, and hands (including grasping and squeezing) throughout shift.
- Able to occasionally kneel, reach above the shoulder, work at heights.
Expected salary: $40 – 45 per hour
