Job description: Donut Media is looking for freelance assistant video editors to join the team and edit world-class automotive videos for YouTube. Candidates must have experience and passion for editing in the YouTube space, along with a drive to continuously grow, acquire new technical and creative skills, deliver superb creative support and eventually grow into a staff editing position. The ideal candidate has previous experience as an assistant editor in a professional setting working with multicam footage, is a solution-oriented troubleshooter, and shows a passion for editing for YouTube and/or social media. Experience working within Adobe Premiere is a must, as well as familiarity with the rest of the Adobe Creative Suite (AfterEffects, Photoshop, Audition). This role is in-person in our office located in Inglewood, CA. Remote applicants will not be considered.$250-300 day rate, based on experience. This position is Mon-Fri, 9am-6pm, with the occasional weekend needed per project needs.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Be the primary line of support for post-production, including ingestion, organization, and archiving of footage
- Handle organization and prep of multi-day multi-cam footage for our editors, and assist with any requests as needed
- Retrieval, relinking, and repackaging of projects for social media platforms
- Identify and edit clips from our content for social media (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
- Able to understand and process feedback in order to properly set up editors for success.
- Deliver projects within established schedules, communicating every step of the way, especially if an unexpected delay that effects delivery is encountered
Qualifications and Skills
- Prior experience assistant editing for a YouTube channel, post-production house, or agency, including familiarity with handling multi-cam shoots for edit
- Ability to work independently or within a team, depending on the needs of the project
- Experience with the Adobe suite, including Premiere Pro, AfterEffects, and Photoshop
- Versatility with multiple video formats and styles
- Speed and clarity in communication
