Job description: Lead Engineer is responsible for the development, expansion, planning, design, maintenance and operation of the system and its equipment to meet the mission and objectives of the organization. In addition, this position coordinates the evaluation of system failures, and the appropriate resolutions, in order to provide support to operations on unplanned maintenance. Responsible for ensuring that the Eversource transmission and distribution systems are designed to high quality standards that provide customers with safe, reliable, competitively priced and environmentally sound electric service. This position shares accountability with peers in the strategy, development, and design of the organization’s Life Cycle Plan, a comprehensive long-term plan for the transmission/distribution system. Responsible for supervising, assigning, prioritizing and directing the work performed by other Engineers and staff.Below are summaries of the function/business unit used by this profile; the recruiter will used the summary applicable to the opened requisition:Grid Modernization is responsible for directly supporting the Company’s plans to modernize the design and operation of the electric distribution system. The incumbent will support multi-disciplinary teams through the life cycle of projects from conception and regulatory filings, planning and implementation, and through performance measurement and verification.Telecommunications is responsible for the Fiber Optic network design, engineering, and execution of projects that provide communication infrastructure and services to the company. The Telecommunications Associate Engineer is responsible for generating detailed engineering designs and documentations needed for the fiber installation, configuration, and commissioning of fiber optic equipment.Distribution Engineering is responsible for the strategic development, expansion, planning, design, maintenance and operation of the system and its equipment to provide reliable service to customers. Technical solutions and modernization initiatives are improving operations and enabling integration of renewable energy resources. The group also works to prevent, evaluate and provide appropriate resolutions to system failures.Substation Engineering is responsible for working on substation design, maintenance, and support, optimizing the cost and performance of substation equipment on the transmission/distribution system. Substation Engineering also supports emergent and/or equipment failures, as necessary, to support operations.Transmission Line Engineering is responsible for providing engineering and support services to ensure the continued reliable operation of all our transmission line assets in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. We perform engineering design and specification, guide and/or oversee the design, construction, operation and maintenance activities on new construction, replacements or enhancements of existing assets and inspections and performance measurements of our transmission lines and structures.System Planning has the task of making sure that Eversource’s future bulk power system serves our customers safely and reliably and meets applicable reliability National and local State Interconnection Standards. The group must look ahead between 1 and 10 years into the future to determine what upgrades are needed in order for the transmission and distribution system to comply with the local State regulatory requirements as well as complying with National and Regional Standards.Protection and Controls is responsible for the design and operation of protection and control systems necessary for the safe and reliable operation of the transmission and distribution system. Protective relaying is a vital part of any electric power system and is very important during trouble faults and abnormal disturbances. If a fault were to occur, protective relaying initiates the disconnection of the trouble area while operation and service in the rest of the system continue.Asset Management is responsible for ensuring that the Transmission and Distribution assets across all three states are optimally developed to provide the highest levels of system reliability at lowest possible costs, taking into account the asset life cycle planning and risk analysis.LNG Compliance is responsible for the execution of technical projects, supervision of staff, development and oversight of regulatory compliance programs, multi-year planning, and the implantation of program controls and other technical support for the LNG and LPG facilities. In addition, this position supports the LNG Operations group by assigning resources as necessary to support the development of, and continued compliance with, technical procedures and programs. This position is responsible for supervising, assigning, prioritizing, and directing work performed by other Engineers and staff.Essential Functions:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.Experience: Minimum of eight (8) t ten (10) years in the technical, operational, or engineering aspects of the electrical utility industry. Supervisory experience preferred.Licenses & Certifications: NoneWorking Conditions:
