Job description: OverviewUnder the supervision and direction of the electric design leadership team, the Distribution Designer I develops a set of fundamental skills essential for electric distribution design. They will build on their existing strengths in communication, organization, and creativity in conjunction with learning utility standards to prepare construction drawings and other documents to design portions of projects as assigned. Designers are part of project teams working on electric projects such as power line undergrounding and overhead system hardening to prevent fire in high fire threat districts and other distribution line projects. With guidance from their lead, Designers carry a full workload of multiple project assignments and are expected to prioritize work tasks to achieve submittals on time and on budget.NV5 is a provider of engineering and consulting services to public and private sector clients, delivering solutions through six business verticals: Testing, Inspection & Consulting; Infrastructure; Utility Services; Environmental Health Sciences; Buildings & Program Management; and Geospatial Technology. NV5 may hire applicants through a third party agency in filling this position. Employment through the agency may be for up to one year, at which point the employee can extend through the agency or convert to direct NV5 employment.The pay range for this California position is $28.00- $34.00 per hour; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per California Senate Bill 1162. Base pay information is based on market location.
