Job description: Who We AreThe Government Programs Team within Channel and Contract Management is responsible for managing the complexities of Government Contracting and Price Reporting to enable patient access through the federal programs (Medicare, Medicaid, 340B, Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense Federal Supply Schedule & TRICARE). GP does this by reporting accurate pricing calculations, paying government rebates, compliance with federal, regulatory and state reporting laws and by providing value to our managed care business partners. Collectively, these efforts help Genentech meet evolving business needs and foster a culture of compliance around government programs and to protect our license to operate.The OpportunityReporting directly to the Executive Director of Government Programs, the Senior Business Process Manager shapes and influences business ideas, transforming challenges into innovative processes through the use of cutting edge technology solutions. This role works across the organization to identify, develop, implement and maintain best in-class processes and systems. This allows GP to meet its responsibilities, scale for efficiencies and future business growth in compliance with strict accuracy targets, timelines, laws and regulations. In addition, compliance with GP methodologies and applicable company policies and guidelines is a critical factor in this role. Fundamental to this position is the ability to lead and improve cross functional effectiveness through continuous process improvement and enhanced operational initiatives.Key Responsibilities:
- Serves as high level functional end-to-end GP business process stakeholder, strategic thought partner, and single point of contact to all departments, local and enterprise operational and systems excellence teams, including Global/Local IT when necessary.
- Leads business efforts on system maintenance and upgrades/enhancements to optimize data, reporting and business process. This includes regulatory driven system and process updates in the support of current and future strategies and activities.
- Implements process assessments, audits and monitor cross-functional GP operations to ensure process/system integrity and effective and scalable processes
- Participates in the development of improvements in government calculations, rebate payments and government claims processing peer reviews to gain and retain familiarity with these key GP operations.
- Develop materials, trains and educates team members and others outside of the department on process improvement efforts (future state solutions) aligned with the business strategic plans to ensure short and long-term organizational improvements.
- Create and communicate presentations to colleagues and senior management; must be able to communicate insights at various levels to be effective.

- You have a Bachelor’s Degree in General Business, Finance, or Information Technology Disciplines
- You have at minimum of 7-10 years’ previous work experience, with an emphasis on business applications, analytics, reporting, project management and operational excellence,
- You have a demonstrated outstanding level of proficiency with technology applications and reporting mechanisms that support pricing and contract administration particular to the pharmaceutical/biotechnology or related industry
- You have a proven track record of successful partnerships with customers and organizations (both externally and with peers across the broader internal organization.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or other related graduate-level degree
- Experience gained within the pharmaceutical/biotechnology or related industry
- Previous experience in other functions within the pharmaceutical/biotechnology or related industry
- Knowledge of the legal and regulatory issues that commonly impact the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry.

Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
