Job description: A leading company specializing in engineering, design, construction, and commissioning is seeking an Electrical Estimator to support and enhance project estimation efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical estimating and a thorough understanding of construction processes. Working collaboratively, the new team member will enhance operational excellence by producing accurate and efficient project estimates that align with specific project requirements and specifications.Salary + Additional Benefits:

Location: Houston, TX
Type of Position: Direct HireResponsibilities:
- Perform accurate quantity take offs from plans and specification.
- Obtain quotes and define scope of work for subcontractors and vendors.
- Communicate effectively with subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
- Explore documentation in order to gain a deep understanding of the project requirements.
- Build and maintain long term relationships with key customers.
- Build and maintain long term relationships with key subcontractors and suppliers.
- Visit site and attend onsite pre-bid meetings as necessary to prepare bid.
- Coordinate with Electrical Managers on scheduling and capacity constraints.
- Compute cost factors and prepare estimates by planning, producing a work schedule.
- Responsible for the negotiation and buyout with subcontractors.
- Prioritize and plan work activities; plan for additional resources; develop realistic action plans.
- Perform additional assignments per Supervisors direction.
- Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Understand Cost Trend and price volatility of parts, material, resources.
Requirements:
- High school Degree or equivalent is required
- 5+ years of experience in estimating
- Proficient in Procore Construction Software
- Proficient computer skills, knowledge, and efficiency
- Able to read and interpret drawings and specifications to evaluate and comprehend the total scope of work required
- Broad understanding of electrical contracting industry
- Strong understanding of construction processes
