Job description: Position Type: Hourly + BonusHours: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EasternReports to: Personal Care Applications ManagerSummary/Objective:Supports R&D, Marketing, and Sales by evaluating the performance of products, developing personal care formulations, developing performance blends, and conducting experiments related to claims and innovation.Essential Functions
- Conduct applications and claims work to support the development of new personal care products by the synthesis team.
- Conduct applications and claims work to support the marketing of personal care products.
- Conduct applications and claims work to support customer projects from the sales team.
- Develop performance blends of products that meet personal care market needs.
- Develop personal care formulations featuring key products or concepts for sales and marketing use.
- Prepare prototype samples of formulations for sales and marketing use.
- Develop methods for applications and claims evaluations.
- Create and maintain detailed records of experiments, development work, and testing results.
- Provide written reports at the conclusion of assigned projects.
- Support the Personal Care Applications Manager on any assigned special projects.
- Practice lab safety and complete required safety training in a timely manner.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no supervisory responsibilitiesPosition Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position; days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.Required Education and Experience
- An associate degree in a scientific field is preferred but not required.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and consistency.
- Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and adapt to evolving project priorities.
- Good written and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability and willingness to work/stand at the bench for multiple hours a day and handle various mixing, weighing, and testing equipment. No heavy lifting required.
- Prior experience in claims testing or formulating personal care products is a plus.
